In inclusive education, people who have special educational needs are educated together with typically developing students in regular classes. Since the 1980s, the\nUnited Kingdom has been a world leader in promoting inclusive education.\n The purpose of the present study was to investigate the British inclusive education system and the practical support provided to children with special educational needs (SEN).I went to the UK on a fact-finding tour from 1 to 8 September 2013.\n In special schools in the UK, each classroom has a prepared ICT environment for each special needs student, and an individualized education program is also developed for each student. I also made some observations of a specific school I visited, the Swiss Cottage School, where training for teachers has also been enhanced to help them deal with special needs students. The school is located within an ‘Education Village’and operates in cooperation with general classes in regular schools in the Village ; in contrast to those schools, however, the special schools offer a limited number of places for students who have been diagnosed as having SEN and who cannot be fully accommodated in a mainstream setting.
